Privacy policy

This is a translation for your convenience. The German version is legally binding.

In brief

  • This website is partly funded by advertising from Google AdSense. Advertising cookies are set only with your consent. You can change your choice at any time via “Privacy settings” at the bottom of every page.
  • We ourselves set no cookies and use no analytics tools.
  • The site’s content, including fonts and images, comes from our own server. For the consent dialog and the ads, your browser also connects to Google (details under “Advertising”).
  • The server keeps an access log (including IP address and requested page) to detect abuse such as automated clicks. It is deleted automatically after 14 days.
  • We only process personal data when you write to us using the contact form.

Hosting

The website runs on a virtual server that we manage ourselves, rented from netcup GmbH, Daimlerstraße 25, 76185 Karlsruhe, Germany. The server is located in Germany. netcup only provides the hardware and has no access to the content of the server.

When you open a page, your browser transmits technically necessary data: your IP address, date and time, the requested address, the previously visited page (referrer) and your browser identification. The server stores this data in an access log to detect and prevent attacks, abuse and fraudulent access – for example automated clicks on ads. The log is deleted automatically after 14 days at the latest. We only analyse it if abuse is suspected and do not combine it with other data. In the case of technical errors your IP address may also appear in the server’s system logs; these are also deleted after 14 days at the latest.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a secure and working website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The connection to this website is encrypted with TLS, shown by “https://” in your browser’s address bar.

Contact form

When you write to us using the contact form, we process the details you enter: name, email address, subject and message. Your IP address is also recorded to prevent abuse and spam. It is sent along with the message and kept in the system logs for no more than 14 days.

The server sends your message by email to our mailbox dreamboxedit(at)online.de, which is operated by 1&1 in Germany. The email stays there until your request has been dealt with and no further questions are expected. It is then deleted unless statutory retention periods apply.

The legal basis is your consent, given with the checkbox in the form (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in answering requests and preventing abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time by email. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

You can of course also write to dreamboxedit(at)online.de directly. We then process your details in the same way.

Settings stored in your browser

If you switch between light and dark mode using the icon at the top right, your browser stores this choice locally (in local storage, entry theme). The information stays on your device and is not sent to us. You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.

This storage is strictly necessary for the function you requested (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).

Advertising (Google AdSense)

This website shows advertising through Google AdSense. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”).

Consent dialog. On your first visit, a dialog asks whether you agree to the use of cookies and similar technologies for advertising. The dialog is provided by Google (“Privacy & messaging”, certified under IAB Europe’s Transparency & Consent Framework). Your decision is stored in a cookie (e.g. FCCDCF) on your device so that the dialog does not reappear on every page. This storage is strictly necessary to respect your choice (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).

With your consent, Google and the advertising partners listed in the consent dialog set cookies and similar technologies (e.g. __gads, __gpi, IDE). They are used to select and measure ads, tailor them to your interests and detect abuse. Data such as your IP address, device identifiers, browser information, the page visited and your interaction with the ads may be processed. The cookies are usually deleted after 13 months at the latest. The exact purposes, partners and storage periods are shown in the consent dialog. The legal basis is your consent (§ 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Without your consent, no advertising cookies are set. Google may then serve non-personalised, so-called limited ads.

Connection to Google. To load the consent dialog and the ads, your browser fetches files from Google’s servers on every page view. Google receives your IP address and the address of the page you are visiting. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in funding the website through advertising and obtaining your consent in a lawful way (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Transfer to the USA. Google may also transfer data to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, so an adequacy decision of the European Commission applies (Art. 45 GDPR).

Withdrawal. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time with effect for the future by clicking “Privacy settings” at the bottom of every page. You can also turn off personalised ads from Google at myadcenter.google.com.

Downloads

The dreamboxEDIT program files are downloaded directly from our server. The same applies as for viewing a page: we do not record who downloaded a file.

This website contains links to other services, for example YouTube videos, Wikipedia, Ko-fi for voluntary donations or manufacturers’ websites. These are plain links, not embedded content. No data is passed to these providers until you click a link. The respective provider is responsible for the processing on their website.

Your rights

You have the right to

  • obtain information about the data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
  • have incorrect data corrected (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • have your data deleted (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • have processing restricted (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • receive your data in a common format (Art. 20 GDPR),
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR),
  • withdraw any consent you have given at any time (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

An informal email to dreamboxedit(at)online.de is sufficient.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht, BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, www.lda.bayern.de.

Changes

We update this privacy policy when the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here applies.
